Kim Anthony travels the country as a keynote speaker to audiences ranging from inner-city youth to corporate executives. She has also spoken at top universities such as UCLA and the University of Florida, and in churches including Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Her message is one of hope, forgiveness and purpose, along with practical ways of applying biblical principles to our everyday lives.
A staff member of Athletes in Action, Anthony served as Chaplain for the Miami Dolphins Wives (10 years) and continues to coach and disciple the wives of NFL players, head coaches and executives around the League. In addition, Anthony’s ministry includes aiding women from all backgrounds in overcoming past pain, working through self-esteem issues and discovering and walking in their purpose.
Another way Anthony is having a notable influence on others is through her book, Unfavorable Odds. In the book, she shares how she overcame the obstacles she faced growing up and went on to become a member of the US National Gymnastics team and the first African-American female to receive a scholarship to compete for UCLA gymnastics. There, she became a 6-time All-American, 4-time national champion and was inducted into the UCLA’s Hall of fame. Unfavorable Odds is a book that crosses social, economic and cultural barriers. It feeds the soul of the reader with a drive to persevere and the courage to overcome.
Kim Anthony currently resides in southwest Ohio with her husband of 22 years, and their teenage sons.
