Kim Anthony travels the country speaking to audiences ranging from inner-city youth to corporate executives. She has spoken at top universities such as UCLA, University of Miami, University of Florida, Cedarville University, and others. She has also presented at several churches around the U.S., including Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Reaching thousands with her message of hope, forgiveness and purpose, Kim shares practical ways of applying time-tested principles to our everyday lives.
As a staff member of Athletes in Action, Kim Anthony served as Chaplain for the Miami Dolphins wives for 10 years and continues to coach and disciple the wives of NFL players, head coaches and executives around the League. In addition, her mission includes aiding women from all backgrounds in overcoming past pain, working through self-esteem issues and discovering and walking in their purpose. Yet, Kim’s message is not only impacting women. Through her speaking at corporate events and even an NFL Team Chapel (where having a female presenter is unheard of), Kim’s message is having a significant impact on men as well. Consequently, her message not only crosses cultural boundaries, but gender borders as well.
Kim Anthony is a former sports reporter for ESPN and television host for a magazine show in Miami, Florida. Her story has been featured in the books, When God Makes Lemonade, created by Don Jacobson and Growing Together in Forgiveness by Barbara Rainey.
Another way Kim is having a notable influence on others is through her book, Unfavorable Odds. In the book, she shares how she overcame growing up in an environment surrounded by drugs, violence and financial hardships and went on to become a member of the US National Gymnastics team and the first African-American female to receive a scholarship to compete for UCLA gymnastics. She became a 6-time All-American, 4-time National Champion and was inducted into the UCLA Hall of Fame. Unfavorable Odds is a book that crosses social, economic and cultural barriers. It feeds the soul of the reader with a drive to persevere and the courage to overcome.
